The Shadow Creek Sharks defense swarmed the Pasadena Mavericks Saturday, holding them scoreless in a lopsided 52-0 victory at Veterans Memorial Stadium. With that win, the Sharks have won six games by 21 points or more this season.
Shadow Creek’s offense was led by senior quarterback Joseph Stewart Jr., with 2 rushing touchdowns of his own and another 3 credited to his passing. Stewart was 20 of 24 for 286 yards and a 160.8 QB rating. Sophomore Tristan Willis was the recipient of one of Stewart’s touchdown passes and added another rushing touchdown as well on one of his 9 carries. Junior Chris Stewart contributed 2 more receiving touchdowns, and senior Cobey Sellers returned an interception for a touchdown. Senior kicker Aiden Bui rounded out the scoring with 7 PATs and a field goal.
Defensively, the Sharks combined for 51 tackles, with senior Caleb Harrison and junior Tommy Baker each causing a fumble.
Shadow Creek improves to 6-1 on the season, while Pasadena Memorial continues a four-game losing streak and stands at 2-4.
Pasadena Memorial faces Pearland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday the 18th. Shadow Creek has a bye week and returns to host Pearland at 7:00 p.m. on Oct. 25.
