Now: Members of the 1984 Clear Lake High School Volleyball 5A UIL State Championship Team after induction into the CCISD Athletic Hall of Honor
Athletes and Coaches Spanning Four Decades and Three CCISD High Schools Recognized
With their friends, family, and biggest fans looking on, the eighth class of elite alumni athletes was inducted into the Clear Creek ISD Athletic Hall of Honor on October 19, 2024, at the CCISD Challenger Columbia Stadium Fieldhouse. The Class of 2024 included two State championship teams and seven student-athletes representing three CCISD high schools.
Each year, the reception-turned-reunion draws together CCISD alumni from the past several decades, members of the CCISD Board of Trustees and District Administrators, the CCISD Athletic Hall of Honor Board of Directors, as well as those who supported the inductees from the stands and sidelines throughout their athletic careers.
To qualify for induction in 2024, the nominees must have graduated from Webster, Clear Creek, Clear Lake, or Clear Brook high schools between 1948 and 2002.
“It is truly a privilege to be in the same room with so many who love Clear Creek ISD, and our rich history in athletics, just as I do,” said CCISD Athletic Hall of Honor Board President Mary Latulippe in her opening remarks. “Thank you to everyone who took time to be here today, especially those who traveled great distances to help us honor this elite group of individuals.”
Hall of Honor Board Member, Former CCISD Athletic Director, and recent inductee into the Texas High School Athletic Directors Association (THSADA) Hall of Honor Debbie Fuchs served as emcee for the afternoon. Guests were treated to a stirring National Anthem, reminiscent of Jimmy Henrick’s 1969 iconic rendition, by Clear Springs student and guitarist Jonathan Vance.
The Athletic Hall of Honor Board members introduced the following individuals by sharing each team or athlete’s achievements in their respective sport and their careers and service to their communities.
