A Houston-based art academy is hoping to open its newest location in Pearland.
Enya Studio owners are seeking a conditional use permit for an arts education facility in an existing office park, 2743 Smith Ranch Road. It’s a decision to be made by Pearland City Council at a future meeting.

Meanwhile, the city’s Planning and Zoning Commission unanimously voted on December 2 to recommend granting the conditional use permit.

“I think what you’re doing is a great fit and I very much appreciate that you picked Pearland,” Planning and Zoning Commissioner Henry Fuertes told the permit applicant, Hongliang Huang.

The studio’s most recent location opened in Cypress last year.

“Currently we have over 400 students across Houston and we want to bring the magic of art to Pearland with a new, local studio,” Huang told the commission.

The studio offers camps, art therapy, and classes in various types of art for children ages 4 to 18. The council in February approved a conditional use permit for a music studio in a different leased space within the same business park.
