Brazoria County Dunes Day for tree recycling is from 9 am to noon on January 20 at Stahlman Park, Freeport.
Christmas Tree drop-off began the day after Christmas at multiple locations throughout the county.
These include the Stella Roberts Recycling Center, 5800 Magnolia in Pearland; Manvel Substation at 7313 Corporate Drive, Manvel; Brazoria County Parks, 313 W. Mulberry, Angleton; Surfside Beach main entrance, and all four precinct headquarters.
Trees with no flocking, tinsel, or decorations will be accepted for the project through mid-January to be converted into sand dunes along the Brazoria County coastline to strengthen them against storm surges.
