Applications open for KTB achievement awards

Date:

Applications are open until February 13 for Keep Texas Beautiful’s Governor’s Community Achievement Awards.

The program honors communities for outstanding efforts in improvement, environmental stewardship, and civic engagement, and winners receive statewide recognition and a share of $2 million in landscaping grants from the Texas Department of Transportation.

The program has recognized outstanding communities since 1969, with TxDOT providing landscaping award funding since 1985. Awards recognize achievements in seven categories: community leadership and coordination, public awareness and outreach, environmental education, beautification and community improvement, litter prevention and cleanup, solid waste management, and litter law and illegal dumping enforcement.

Applications are due by 5 p.m. on February 13 and can be submitted online at keeptexasbeautiful.submittable.com. For information, email awards@ktb.org.
