Deadline Friday for city, ISD races

Filing for local city and school board elections will end at 5 p.m. on Friday, February 14.
The May 3 election will decide three seats on the Pearland City Council and trustee positions on the Pearland ISD and Alvin ISD school boards.

Up for reelection on Pearland City Council are Position No. 1, No. 5, and No. 6, held by council members Joseph Koza, Layni Cade, and Chad Thumann. These three-year terms will end in May 2028. Interested candidates should visit the city secretary’s office, 3519 Liberty Drive, on weekdays between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Information and forms can also be downloaded from pearlandtx.gov.

In Pearland ISD, seats up for reelection are Position No. 7, held by Nanette Weimer; Position No. 5, held by Amanda Kuhn; and Position No. 6, held by Jenny Francis. Interested Pearland ISD candidates should visit the administrative offices at 1928 North Main St. or call 832-736-6127.

Alvin ISD Trustees with terms expiring this year are Position No. 4 representative Regan Peterson and Position No. 5 representative David Selsky. Prospective candidates may file during normal business hours at the Tommy King Administration Building, 301 E. House St., Alvin.
