Applications will be accepted through March 13 for the city’s inaugural “UniverCity of Pearland” class, an eight-week class free to residents 18 and up interested in how their city works.
The program will meet on Thursdays beginning March 27 with a 5:30 pm light dinner with a presentation from 6 to 8 pm. The class is limited to 20 people, and locations vary depending on that evening’s presentation.
Classes are held at City Hall, the Fire Administration, the Law Enforcement Training Center, the Surface Water Treatment Plant, the Recreation Center, and the EPW Building.
Applicants must be registered to vote in Texas, be a city resident, and commit to attending all sessions, among other requirements. Graduates will be recognized at the May 19 City Council meeting. For information or to register, go to tinyurl.com/PearlandUniverCity
