Friendswood High School (FHS) hosted its much-anticipated first-ever Tip-Off Party, rallying the community for the upcoming basketball season. This spirited event, essentially a community pep rally, brought together students, families, and supporters to celebrate the start of the basketball season with fun activities, team introductions, and lively performances.
The night featured introductions of the boys’ and girls’ basketball teams across Freshmen, JV, and Varsity levels, led by Head Boys Basketball Coach Danny Russell and Girls Basketball Coach Andrew Spencer.
Entertainment included performances by the Wranglerettes dance team and the FHS cheerleaders, captivating the audience with their enthusiasm and spirit. Mighty the Mustang mascot brought smiles and energy to the crowd, while a DJ kept the event jumping with upbeat music. Attendees enjoyed the event’s interactive elements, including a photo booth and raffle drawings.
One of the most exciting parts of the night was a series of basketball skill competitions. Fans cheered as players and participants showcased their talents in a half-court shot contest, a free-throw contest, a dribbling challenge, and an around-the-world contest. The highlight of the evening was a slam dunk contest, where players thrilled the crowd with impressive dunks.
FHS thanks all attendees, coaches, and organizers who contributed to the success of this memorable event. With community support and enthusiasm running high, the Mustangs are ready to take on a promising basketball season.
