Five individuals arrested in connection with burglaries and stolen firearm

Date:

Five individuals were arrested following a suspicious person investigation in the 700 block of Hackberry, in the Forest of Friendswood subdivision, early in the morning of November 6. Officers responded to a call at approximately 2:00 a.m., reporting two individuals caught breaking into a vehicle.

Upon arrival, officers began searching the area and located a suspicious vehicle, a white 2023 Chevrolet Equinox, which was seen driving in the vicinity of the reported break-in. The suspect vehicle, which was a rental vehicle, was located, and officers conducted a traffic stop and discovered several individuals inside, including one who appeared to be acting nervously.

During the stop, officers detected the odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle and observed signs of suspicious behavior from the occupants. A search of the vehicle revealed a loaded Glock handgun, which was confirmed to be stolen from Harris County, along with marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Additionally, officers discovered a large sum of money and personal identification belonging to a victim who had reported a recent car burglary in the area.

The following individuals were arrested and charged with various offenses:
Damiean Warfield, 20, of Houston, was charged with Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity. He also had outstanding warrants.

Jordon Esmond Serrette, 20, of Humble, was charged with Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity. He was arrested for burglary of a motor vehicle and possession of a stolen firearm.
Katrell Calhoun, 20, of Houston, was charged with Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity. He was arrested for possession of marijuana.

Omanii Jae Rucker, 18, of Baytown, was charged with Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity. She was arrested for possession of a stolen firearm.

Joshua Baldwin, 17, of Baytown, was charged with Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity. He was arrested for possession of stolen personal identification.

All five individuals were transported to the Friendswood City Jail for booking and processing.

The investigation into this incident is ongoing, and additional charges may be pending.
Several neighborhoods have been targeted recently by criminal activity. In addition to the car burglaries, a recent rash of mailbox thefts have authorities on high alert. One such case has already lead to an arrest as the suspect attempted to fraudulently cash a check at multiple bank locations.

Residents are advised to be proactive by locking their vehicles, reporting suspicious activity to the local police department, and using secure mail drop locations for any outgoing mail, especially if it contains sensitive financial information.
