For those who have New Year’s resolutions that involve gardening, there are four free gardening seminars taught by Galveston County Master Gardeners in January.
Designing & Growing an Herb Garden will be presented on Saturday, January 4, 2025, with Galveston County Master Gardeners Donna Merritt and Briana Etie. The free presentation includes a tour of the Master Gardeners’ herb garden. The presentation will be from 9-11 am at the Discovery Garden in Carbide Park. From 1 to 3 pm on the same date, the exact location will be Wedge Grafting, with Galveston County Master Gardener Hazel Lampton. This is also free to attend. Growing Tomatoes, Part 2 of 3, with Galveston County Master Gardener Ira Gervais, will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2025, from 9 to 11 am. The free presentation will occur at the Galveston County AgriLife Extension Office inside Carbide Park at 4102-B Main Street (FM 519), La Marque. Anyone Can Grow Roses will be presented on Saturday, January 18, 2025, from 1 to 3 pm. Galveston County Master Gardener and Rosarian John Jons will give the free presentation. It will occur at Galveston County AgriLife Extension Office inside Carbide Park, 4102-B Main Street (FM 519), La Marque.
