Pearland senior linebacker Kamyn Harris races down the sideline on his way to a 67-yard interception return for a touchdown Friday night against Clear Falls. The Oilers opened the season on the road at Challenger-Columbia Stadium and came away with a dominating 49-3 win over the Knights. Harris added a sack as well, while the Pearland defense kept the Clear Falls offense in check throughout the night. The Pearland offense was in classic Oiler form, piling up 380 total yards and six rushing touchdowns, three of which came from junior running back Royce Swan. Up next, the Oilers will welcome the Katy Paetow Panthers to Pearland Stadium. Paetow is where Pearland head coach BJ Gotte began his head coaching career in 2017 before taking over the Oilers. Kickoff is Friday, September 4, at 7 p.m. PHOTO BY LLOYD HENDRICKS
