Friendswood’s swimming season went to the dogs as local pups took over the pool for the city’s annual Dog Days of Summer event.
Hosted by the City of Friendswood Parks & Recreation Department, the end-of-summer “Pool Paw-ty” gave dogs an opportunity to swim, splash and play in the water as the city wrapped up another season at the pool.
“The last Pool Paw-ty of the summer was a BLAST!” Friendswood Parks & Recreation said following the event. “Our four-legged friends took over the pool for an afternoon full of swimming, splashing, playing, and plenty of tail wags.”
Dog Days of Summer has become a fitting conclusion to the city’s summer aquatics schedule, allowing four-legged residents to enjoy the pool after the regular swimming season comes to an end.
Parks & Recreation thanked the residents who brought their dogs to participate, as well as the local organizations and businesses that helped support the event.
Sponsors included Friendswood Animal Services, Friendswood Family Animal Hospital and Pawsh Dog House.
“We couldn’t think of a better way to say goodbye to summer at the pool,” the department said.
