In Support of Marcus Rives

Date:

Dear Editor,

Drainage and flood prevention have been and will continue to be an important issue for the Friendswood Community. Having personally been involved with the floods from Allison, the damage from Ike and the recovery efforts after Harvey, the need for vigilance is always on my mind. Leadership at the Galveston County Consolidated Drainage District (GCCDD) must balance: tax payer needs, budgets, partnerships, staffing requirements and the ever changing political landscape of our County, State and Nation. I have spoken with numerous experts and leaders in our community about the work that Marcus Rives has done during his service on GCCDD.

The recommendations I have received, and my own knowledge of Marcus’s service, gives me great confidence in recommending him to Friendswood.

We need leaders like Marcus to continue to complete and improve our drainage projects. It’s only a matter of time before we see our next storm, let’s keep Marcus as a Director on GCCDD. Early voting starts on April 25 at the Activities Building in Downtown Friendswood.
