Modern Elegance is the theme for the decorated home of Harry and Margaret Potter. Located in the Monte Bello neighborhood in Friendswood, the 9,450 sq. ft. home will be on the 57th Annual Christmas Tour hosted by Heritage Gardeners on November 18 and 19.
The home was built in 2021 as a place for the two ‘empty nesters’ to entertain and host large parties. The two share five adult children with five grandchildren (and one on the way).
They previously lived in a home in Friendswood with 2.25 acres and wanted a larger home with less property. Monte Bello was the perfect site for their home, which took a year to build after the design work was completed.
The theme of modern elegance fits the home as it fits its design scheme. Holiday décor will be in shades of silver, gold and white. Multiple large, decorated trees will be throughout the home.
Three other homes, as well as the decorated Marie Workman Center (garden clubhouse), will be on the tour.
Tickets are on sale at businesses around town and the Chamber of Commerce, as well as from any Heritage Gardener member and the garden clubhouse at 112 W. Spreading Oaks in Friendswood.
Home tours are from 1 to 5 pm each day. Each ticket is good for both days.
During the two days, from 9 am to 5 pm, there will also be a Holiday Market, bakery, raffles, and more.
The Holiday Market is open from 9 am to 4 pm daily and free for all shoppers to attend. Vendors will offer perfect holiday gifts for everyone on shoppers’ gift lists. The garden club will also offer its Treasure Chest Boutique for shoppers.
This year’s theme for the entire Heritage Gardener event is Dressed in Holiday Style. Plans are underway for a great Santa’s Bakery (no need to make desserts for Thanksgiving) and the tour and vendor market for shopping. Raffles are bigger and better than ever this year.
