An internet page with maps and information about city projects from water line replacements to street and drainage work is set to go live for Pearland residents in 2025, city officials say.
“Once live, anyone will have access to this through the engineer and public works capital projects web page,” said Fabiola de Carvalho, assistant director of capital projects.
The portal will include a city map with dots to mark active projects and a searchable listing, and users will be able to see information such as budget, projected timeline, completion, funding source, latest updates, and contact information for the project manager.
Those interested in specific projects — improvements near their home or that affect their commute, for example — can sign up for quarterly email updates.
The city’s recent capital projects workshop at City Hall provided an update on the portal.
Staff said they hope the “project portal,” as it is known, will be live in January.
“We have a number of projects in the works,” Mayor Kevin Cole said. “It’s easier to understand graphics where they can see it as opposed to reading through pages of memos.”
