Pearland City Council on Monday gave final approval to the addition of a 220-acre tract to the Massey Oaks development.

Located south of Old Massey Ranch Road, the addition will have 628 residential lots, down slightly from the number planned when the council approved a first reading of the needed zone change in December. Originally zoned as residential, the tract is now zoned as planned development to match the Massey Oaks development.

The tract is located south of Old Massey Ranch Road, east of the future Harkey Road, and west of McLean Road. Proposed lot types vary in size. It also includes three parks, a trail system, and detention ponds.

Both readings passed 4-1, with Councilman Joseph Koza against. Councilman Chad Thumann, who owns the adjacent property, recused himself from both votes.
