Museum hosts comfort food event

Date:

Brazoria County Historical Museum will celebrate Black History Month on February 20 with “Homemade: Comfort Foods Throughout Black History.”

The 6 p.m. presentation is the second event in the “Homemade” series led by Library and Archival Manager Blue Schuler, who will showcase historic recipes in the Museum’s collection.

Schuler will explore Black cuisine specifically, allowing attendees to learn more about where different foods came from in Black cultures and communities and the lives of the Black individuals who created these recipes. Guests will enjoy samples of the recreated dishes, such as a Texas staple: barbecue.

The event is free and open to the public, and the Museum is located at 100 East Cedar in Angleton.
