Golf Team Claims 5th Straight District Championship

The Friendswood High School Boys Golf Team staged an incredible comeback to secure their fifth consecutive district championship, overcoming a seven-stroke deficit after Day 1 of competition. Led by standout performances from Michael Butler and Alex Chang, the team finished just one stroke ahead to claim the top spot.
Michael Butler delivered an exceptional performance with rounds of 82 and 75, earning him the title of District Champion and a spot on the 1st Team All District. Alex Chang followed close behind, finishing 3rd overall with scores of 86 and 77, also earning 1st Team All District honors.
“This group showed tremendous grit and resilience,” said Coach Raymond Monahan. “To come back from third place and win by a single stroke speaks volumes about their focus and determination.”

Alex Chang (86-77): 3rd Place, 1st Team All District
Cayden Mullen (85-85): 7th Place, 1st Team All District
Roman Nieto (88-84): 9th Place, 1st Team All District
Connor Bollman (95-87): 20th Place, 2nd Team All District
Henry Jalbert (90-94): 22nd Place
Charles Pitts (93-92): 24th Place
Hudson Eubanks (95-95): 27th Place
Austin Green (94-99): 31st Place
Patyn Ritchie (105-106): 41st Place
Friendswood also held off LaPorte to finish among the district’s top five teams overall.
The Varsity squad now advances to the Regional Tournament at Margaritaville Golf Club, set for April 17th and 18th.
